Dementia Evaluations

Dementia Evaluations

At Utah Center for Psychological Services, we provide comprehensive neuropsychological evaluations for individuals experiencing memory loss, confusion, or other cognitive changes that may indicate dementia or a neurocognitive disorder. Our goal is to help clients and their families understand what’s happening — and what to do next.

What Our Dementia Evaluations Include:

  • In-depth clinical interview with the client and (when possible) a close family member or caregiver to gather history, daily functioning concerns, and behavioral changes.

  • Standardized cognitive testing assessing memory, language, attention, executive functioning, processing speed, and problem-solving abilities.

  • Mood and personality assessment to evaluate emotional functioning, which can impact or mimic cognitive concerns.

  • Diagnostic clarity — we assess for conditions such as Alzheimer's disease, vascular dementia, frontotemporal dementia, and mild cognitive impairment (MCI).

  • Functional and safety recommendations to support decision-making around independent living, driving, and daily care needs.

  • Detailed written report and feedback session to explain results, answer questions, and provide clear, compassionate next steps.

We believe in making this process as supportive and informative as possible — whether you’re in the early stages of concern or seeking a second opinion after a medical diagnosis.
