Meet the Team
Dr. Peggy Smith
is a post-doctoral psychology resident who specializes in the assessment and treatment of children and adolescents with neurodevelopmental, emotional, and behavioral differences, including autism spectrum disorder (ASD), ADHD, intellectual and developmental disabilities (IDD), Down syndrome, fragile X syndrome, fetal alcohol spectrum disorder (FASD), and behavioral disorders such as ODD and conduct disorder (CD).
She also provides evaluations and support for children experiencing anxiety disorders, obsessive-compulsive disorder (OCD), selective mutism, post-traumatic stress disorder (PTSD), attachment challenges, and depression.
Dr. Smith earned her doctorate in Educational Psychology from the University of Minnesota, where her research centered on developmental psychopathology with an emphasis on autism and childhood behavior disorders. She completed her predoctoral internship at the Carmen B. Pingree Autism Center of Learning, focusing on the assessment of nonverbal and minimally verbal children and behavioral intervention planning.
In addition to her clinical training, Dr. Smith has taught university courses in psychopathology, child and adolescent development, human relationships, social psychology, and motivation and emotion. She is now completing her post-doctoral residency to obtain licensure and expand her ability to provide comprehensive psychological services for children, teens, and families affected by autism, ADHD, and other developmental and mental health concerns.
