Dr. Meghan Semenick

Dr. Semenick is a licensed clinical psychologist with extensive experience in both clinical and forensic settings. She earned her doctorate from Eastern Kentucky University and completed her residency and postdoctoral training at Utah State Hospital, where she developed a strong foundation in psychological assessment and trauma-focused care.

Dr. Semenick specializes in comprehensive diagnostic evaluations for children, adolescents, and adults, with particular expertise in behavioral challenges, trauma-related concerns, and personality disorders. In addition to her clinical work, Dr. Semenick also provides specialized forensic assessments, including psychosexual evaluations, violence risk assessments, and parental fitness evaluations. These evaluations are thoughtful, objective, evidence-based, and designed to offer clarity in high-stakes situations.

Dr. Semenick is also a trauma therapist who doesn’t just talk about healing — she uses empirically supported, structured treatments to help her clients actually get there. She offers:

  • Trauma-Focused Cognitive Behavioral Therapy (TF-CBT)

  • Cognitive Processing Therapy (CPT)

  • Prolonged Exposure Therapy (PE)

Her approach is warm, direct, and collaborative — helping children, teens, and adults work through the impacts of interpersonal abuse, complex trauma, and family dynamics. She often integrates family members into the healing process when appropriate and empowers clients with tools to keep working outside of the session through guided activities and worksheets.

While these treatment models are structured (often around 15 weeks), Dr. Semenick tailors each plan to fit the pace and needs of the individual — knowing that healing isn't one-size-fits-all.

Whether she’s helping a child navigate the effects of trauma or guiding a court through a complex evaluation, Dr. Semenick brings deep clinical knowledge and calm presence, and objectivity to her work.
